Masked Suspects Throw Molotov Cocktail at Apartment Door

A masked suspect and his accomplice tossed a Molotov cocktail at an apartment door in an incident that was caught on surveillance video, police said.

The two suspects went into a building near East 116th Street and Madison Avenue around 8:50 p.m. on Feb. 28 and walked through the hallway, surveillance tape shows.

One of the suspects then threw a bottle with a flammable liquid at a door, the NYPD said.

The two fled the scene after the incident, according to police.

The fire started by the Molotov cocktail was extinguished, and no one was injured, the NYPD said.

Both of the suspects were wearing masks and are around 18 to 25 years old, police said. It wasn’t immediately clear why the victim’s door was targeted.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
