2 Dead, 'Multiple' Hurt in NY-Bound Charter Bus Highway Flip
At least two people died and "multiple" passengers were hurt when a charter bus bound for New York flipped on a highway exit ramp in Virginia early Tuesday, authorities say.
Fifty-seven people were on the bus, which was headed to the Big Apple from Florida, when it flipped on the exit 45 ramp on I-95 in Prince George before 7 a.m., according to the Virginia State Police. Details on the victims weren't available.
Photos tweeted by the Virginia State Police showed heavy fog ensconcing the emergency scene. The bus was seen flipped on its side off to the swampy side of the road as eerie fog shrouded nearby trees and rescue crews in the roadway.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, officials said. The investigation is ongoing.
Family of anyone who may have been on the bus can call the Prince George Emergency Services Center at 804-733-2659 for info. A Family Reunification Center has been set up at the Prince George County Central Wellness Center.
