Job Fair Friday for Marcal Workers Who Lost Jobs in Fire

A job fair has been set up for the hundreds of employees affected by the destruction of a landmark New Jersey paper plant in a fire last week.

The workers who lost their jobs at the Marcal Paper Mills in Elmwood Park on Jan. 30 are encouraged to attend a job fair on Friday, Feb. 8 at the Bergen County Community College in Paramus, at the Moses Center in the technology building (first floor).

Doors open at 9 a.m., and the event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Employees interested in participating in the job fair should contact the New Jersey Department of Labor at marcaljobs@ dol.nj.gov or call 609-633-8017 or 609-292-6446.

Additionally, a dedicated email address (hr@soundviewpaper.com) has been set up to allow employers to share open jobs with all the workers who lost their jobs.
