Wanted Suspect Tried to Rape 74-Year-Old Woman in Queens: PD

Police are searching for a man who tried to rape a 74-year-old woman in Queens Wednesday after he struck her in the head with a bottle.

The woman answered a knock on her door at her home near 108th Street and 38th Avenue and the suspect forced him way inside, according to police. Once in her home, the man knocked her to the ground and hit her in the head with a bottle before dragging her into her bedroom.

NYPD says the man attempted to rape her and fled.

The victim is in stable condition after being transported to a nearby hospital, according to police.

The suspect was last wearing a baseball cap, dark colored shirt and gray pants. Anyone with information is asked to contact NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
