NJ Transit Train Smashes Into Police Vehicle
An NJ Transit train smashed into a police vehicle in Long Branch Monday, causing major delays and snarling traffic in the area as authorities investigated.
No one was hurt, police said. It wasn't clear where the police vehicle was when it was hit or what led to the accident.
NJ Transit, which also confirmed a switch failure, said it was experiencing delays and cancellations because of the crash and Long Branch police warned traffic would be slow moving for a number of hours as the department investigates.
