FDNY: Hazmat Team Responds to Acid Spill in Upper Manhattan

Hazmat team responded to the scene of an acid spill in upper Manhattan Monday morning that left one person in serious condition, fire officials say.

The FDNY says it received a call regarding the spill on East 86th Street around 9:30 a.m. 

One person was transported to a hospital in serious condition, fire officials say.

According to the FDNY, the liquid spilled was muriatic acid, also known as hydrochloric acid.

No other information was immediately available.
