Flights Halted at Newark Airport Due to 'Aircraft Incident'

Flights in and out of Newark Liberty International Airport have been halted due to an "aircraft incident," the FAA says.

The ground stop was issued Saturday afternoon, according to the FAA.

"Due to an airport emergency there are currently no arrivals nor departures from Newark Airport," Newark Airport said on Twitter. "Please check with your carrier before coming to the airport." 

Officials didn't immediately provide additional details about the "aircraft incident."
