Death of Queens Baby Ruled a Homicide

A 9-month-old Queens baby’s death as a result of brain trauma has been ruled a homicide.

Veto Garcia was at his babysitter’s South Ozone Park home on June 14, 2018, when he began having a seizure and foaming at the mouth. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital and later transferred to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he died on June 17.

The child’s babysitter, 22-year-old Ronita Singh, was arrested and charged with assault for her alleged role in the child’s death.
