Would-Be Robbers Ring Woman's Doorbell, Attack Her: NYPD
A pair of attackers forced their way into a woman’s apartment, punched her and put her in a chokehold before rummaging through her belongings — but ended up leaving empty-handed, police say.
The would-be thieves rang the 55-year-old Flushing resident’s doorbell around 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, the NYPD said.
When the woman answered the door, the two pushed their way inside, punched her and put her into a chokehold, police said.
The attackers searched her apartment, but ended up leaving without taking anything, according to police.
The woman was taken to the hospital with a swollen face and neck pain, the NYPD said. Police believe the two men arrived at the woman’s apartment in a white Escalade.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
