Woman on Bike Hit, Killed by Gas Tanker in Williamsburg
A gas tank truck hit and killed a woman riding a bike in Brooklyn late Thursday, police said.
A 25-year-old woman was pedaling east on her bicycle near Broadway and Marcy Avenue in Williamsburg where the tractor-trailer going the same direction struck her and kept going around 11:40 p.m., according to the NYPD. Police added that the driver of the tanker may not have been aware that they hit the woman.
The woman, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Video from the scene shows a heavy emergency response as authorities investigate.
Police are still searching for the tanker and the driver.
