Video Shows ‘Heinous Assault’ on Subway as Riders Look On

Police are looking into the assault of a woman riding the subway in the Bronx after a violent video surfaced on social media showing a man kicking her repeatedly in the head and face as she was seated.

In a Twitter post Friday, NYPD Chief of Transit Edward Delatorre said authorities are aware of the video and “@NYPDDetectives are on the case and actively investigating this heinous assault.”

The disturbing video shows a man kicking a seemingly older woman in the head, face and chest area repeatedly as she sits in a subway train and attempts to block the blows with her arms.

The video shows some riders capturing the horrific incident on their phones, but no one helping her.

The suspect, who was seen on video wearing jeans, dark shoes, a dark jacket and a dark beanie, ultimately got off the subway train while the woman was left seated and cradling her head in her hand.

It is unclear when the incident took place or on board what train line.
