Man, 86, Found Dead in NYC Home After Fire is Put Out
A man in his 80s died in a house fire on Staten Island Wednesday, officials said.
It's not clear how the fire started inside the small house on Oakdale Street. Firefighters were quickly able to get it under control, but inside, they found the body of an 86-year-old man.
He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
A neighbor, Annette Ferraro, described the victim as a nice, quiet man whose daughter visited daily.
No one else was affected by the fire. Investigation is ongoing.
