Cops, FDNY Respond to Shot Man on NYC Subway Platform

Authorities are responding to a report of a man who was found shot on a subway platform in Queens Friday.

Fire officials confirmed they responded to a shooting by the 75th Avenue station in Briarwood around noon. The FDNY didn't say where exactly the man was wounded, but according to the MTA, he was found on the platform.

It wasn't clear if the man was shot and then stumbled onto the platform or if he was shot on the platform. The NYPD tweeted that people should avoid the area as they investigated a reported assault; no other details were immediately available.

The MTA implemented service changes in the area, with trains bypassing 85th Avenue as authorities investigated. Riders were advised to expect some delays.

Last month, another man was shot to death on a different subway platform in Queens, on the elevated 7 train platform at 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue. Two young men face murder and other charges in what cops have described as a gang-related case.
