Car Somehow Veers Off Highway, Plunges into Passaic River

A car somehow veered off Route 21 and plunged into the water of the nearby Passaic River Monday morning in Belleville, authorities say.

According to Belleville police, the sole person in the car is out of the water and being transported to a local hospital.

Their current condition or how the car ended up  in the water is unclear.

Chopper 4 was over the scene. The outline of what appears to be a car is seen submerged.
