Bloomberg Looking for Office Space Amid Prez Rumors: Source

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's team has made inquiries about substantial office space amid speculation he could be making a run for president, a real estate industry source told News 4 New York.

The source said Bloomberg's team inquired about 30,000 square feet of office space at 7 World Trade Center for a period of about two years, which would roughly correspond with the length of a presidential campaign.

His team is considering other space as well, the source indicated.

Bloomberg's spokespeople were not immediately available for comment. At 30,000 square feet, his potential campaign office would be less than half the size of the space Hillary Clinton initially rented in Brooklyn for her 2016 run.

The former mayor told The Associated Press in early February that he would make a decision on a run within about three weeks.

The 77-year-old multibillionaire would immediately shake up the Democratic field for 2020, given his deep resources.
