2 Dead After Car Plunges Into Water in New Rochelle: Police

A man and a woman died after their vehicle crashed through a steel railing and plunged into the water near a New Rochelle park, police said.

The vehicle drove through a steel railing and plunged into the water at Hudson Park and Beach Tuesday afternoon, police said.

An unconscious, unresponsive man was pulled from the submerged vehicle by a police diver shortly after the crash, according to police.

A woman’s body was pulled from the vehicle later in the afternoon, police said.

Police didn’t immediately release the names or ages of the victims or say how the crash happened. An investigation is ongoing.
