Nathan’s Famous Contest Qualifiers Are Coming to NY

Wiener worshipers in the tri-state area can chow down on some dogs and qualify for the Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest at two qualifiers in Central Islip and Queens.

The qualifier in Central Islip will occur on May 9 and the one in Queens is slated for June 16.

The final competition will be held, as it has been for 102 years, on Coney Island on the Fourth of July.

Last year’s winner, Joey “Jaws” Chestnut, ate a record-breaking 74 hot dogs in 10 minutes, making it his 11th Nathan’s Famous win.

Nathan’s Famous qualifiers will make stops in 12 other cities across the Unites States.
