Missing NYC Mom Found Dead in Garbage Bag in NJ: Sources

A 65-year-old Manhattan mom who has been missing since Monday night was found dead in a garbage bag in Morristown, New Jersey, law enforcement sources said.

Pamela Chin's body was found at a home on Bailey Hollow Road, the sources said. Three people have been charged with "concealing a corpse" as police investigate how and why the woman may have been murdered.

Investigators believe Chin may have been stabbed to death in her Vestry Street apartment in lower Manhattan in a fight over money, with her body later being driven across the river by her alleged killer.

NYPD detectives are getting a warrant to search Chin’s third-floor apartment on Vestry Street, as well as a car parked nearby that may have been used to transport the corpse, the sources said.

Police in Morristown are joining NYPD detectives in searching the Bailey Hollow Road location as well.

Chin has two sons, and law enforcement sources said they are looking into whether a family dispute over money may have led to the killing. Officials said it is believed Chin was stabbed in the throat during the argument.

Three people currently in custody at the 1st Precinct are being questioned in connection with “concealment of a human corpse,” according to the sources.

Charged so far with "concealing a body" are Jared Eng, 22, of the Vestry Street building, Jennifer Lopez, of Manhattan, and Caitlyn O’Rourke, of Paterson, New York, law enforcement officials said.

Sources said murder charges could be filed in connection with the case later on Wednesday.

A neighbor told News 4 Chin owned the Vestry Street building and lived at times on the third floor with her sons as well as at the home in Morristown.
