L Train Service Disrupted as MTA Investigates 'Fuel Smells'

Service on a stretch of the L train is temporarily suspended as the MTA investigates “fuel smells” on the tracks, the agency says.

Service was suspended between the 1st Avenue station in Manhattan and the Morgan Avenue station in Brooklyn Tuesday afternoon, the MTA said.

Trains were running on a single track between the Morgan Avenue station and the Myrtle-Wyckoff Avenues station in Brooklyn, the agency said.

“Our safety checks have found that the air is currently safe, but we need to correct and resolve the condition,” the MTA said in a tweet.

The agency said it was “mobilizing shuttle buses” to travel between the stations as it carried out its investigation.
