Knife-Wielding Man Tries to Rape Woman at NYC Hotel: Police

A knife-wielding man allegedly tried to rape a woman at a Midtown hotel, police said.

The man met up with the 21-year-old woman near East 45th Street and Vanderbilt Avenue around 8 p.m. on Sunday and went into a hotel with her, according to police.

At some point after the two went inside, the man pulled out a knife and tried to sexually assault the woman, police said.

The woman managed to fight the man off, but was left with minor injuries, the NYPD said. The alleged attacker fled the scene.
