Dog Gets Loose and Bites 3 Kids, 1 Adult in Newark: Police

A dog bit three kids and one adult after it got loose in Newark Thursday morning, officials said.

Officers got a call reporting a dog running loose near Elwood Avenue and Broadway around 8 a.m., Newark police said.

The dog bit three children and one adult — all of whom were left with non-life threatening wounds, according to police. Police said the children’s wounds were superficial.

The dog has since been caught and is with its owner at the scene, police said.

Police said Animal Control had been notified about the incident. An investigation is ongoing.
