Dance Teacher Accused of Sexually Abusing Student: Police
A well-known Manhattan dance instructor was arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a 16-year-old student, police said.
David Marquez, 53, of Washington Heights, allegedly touched the 16-year-old boy’s genitals over his clothing on Aug. 15, 2017, the NYPD said.
The alleged incident was reported on March 29 of last year, according to police. It wasn’t immediately clear why Marquez was only arrested on Wednesday.
Police say the student Marquez allegedly abused came to Manhattan from out-of-state for dance lessons. The abuse allegedly took place at Marquez' Washington Heights apartment.
The instructor has been charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse, the NYPD said.
His attorney information wasn’t immediately available Wednesday.
