Cloudy Afternoon to Make Way for Wintry Mix Overnight
A wintry mix expected to move through the tri-state overnight could make roads slippery on Monday morning, Storm Team 4 says.
Sunday morning sunshine will give way to thickening clouds in the afternoon, ahead of an approaching low-pressure system, according to Storm Team 4's Raphael Miranda.
The system will bring some snow to the tri-state, with New York City, Long Island and central New Jersey expected to see up to 1 inch.
As temperatures warm up after midnight, the snow will likely change to a wintry mix inland and to rain along the coast, making for slippery roads on Monday morning, Storm Team 4 says.
The suburbs north and west of the city could see anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow, while the Catskills and Poconos are expected to get between 3 and 5 inches of snow, according to Storm Team 4.
Sunday night is expected to see a low of 33 degrees, while Monday could see a high of 41 degrees, with a lingering rain or snow shower.
