Bullet Grazes Deli Worker’s Head in Robbery Attempt: Police
A bullet grazed a deli worker’s head after a would-be thief shot at him during a robbery attempt, the NYPD said.
The male and two accomplices went into Gourmet Deli, on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens, around 12:40 a.m. on Saturday, flashed a gun at a 27-year-old worker and demanded cash, police said.
When the worker refused, one of the would-be thieves fired a shot at him, grazing his head, according to police.
The shooting was caught on the deli's surveillance camera.
The trio fled the deli on 110th Avenue after the shooting, the NYPD said. A fourth accomplice stood outside the deli acting as a lookout during the attempted robbery, police said.
The worker was taken to the hospital in stable condition, the NYPD said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to cal the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
